Job Title: Kitchen Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Kitchen Manager to oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure smooth and efficient food production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in kitchen management, food preparation, and staff supervision. You will be responsible for maintaining food quality, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with safety and hygiene standards, and helping foster a positive work environment for kitchen staff.

The Kitchen Manager should also be dedicated to maintaining high standards of food preparation while managing costs effectively. This role requires leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. You should be available to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure high-quality meals.
  • Supervise and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they adhere to food safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house managers to ensure seamless communication between kitchen and service teams.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering food, supplies, and managing waste to stay within budget.
  • Monitor food costs, portion control, and labor targets to maximize profitability.
  • Train, onboard, and schedule new kitchen staff to ensure a high-performing kitchen team.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
  • Create and implement kitchen workflows to improve efficiency and food quality.
  • Work with management to ensure all menu items are properly prepared and served according to company standards.
  • Assist with staff performance evaluations and make recommendations for hiring, promotions, and terminations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of kitchen management experience, preferably in a high-volume, full-service casual dining environment.
  • Executive kitchen management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to manage kitchen staff and work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software and POS systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle high-stress situations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 8 to 10 hours.
  • Ability to motivate and direct kitchen staff effectively
